Yesterday, I had He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (aka, the boyfriend) cut up a large sheet of MDF to make walls and floors for the birdcage. My original plan was simply to use cardboard but I will need to grout one of the floors so cardboard isn't the best base. Poor You-Know-Who quickly realized that it wasn't going to be a straight-forward 3 walled house. I had made templates of each wall section but even using those and re-measuring, the cut pieces still needed some resizing. So more using the plane. I mainly stood back and supervised :P
I do have a pretty good idea of how I'm going to decorate the birdcage, although I'll need to figure out what to do about windows. Especially since I'm feeling impatient to start wallpapering and painting.
For my paper Casa, the end is in sight! I spent a few hours working through more steps so I think it's mainly the roof and back support that is left to do. I have a few more updates to share...hopefully I'll post some more photos before the end of the week.
